Tom20 Antibody (F-10) is an IgG2a λ mouse monoclonal Tom20 antibody (also designated TOMM20 antibody) that detects the Tom20 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. Tom20 Antibody (F-10) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-Tom20 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-Tom20 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tom20 is a member of the multisubunit complex Tom (mitochondrial preprotein translocases of the outer membrane). Tom facilitates the import of nucleus-encoded precursor proteins across the mitochondrial outer membrane. The Tom machinery consists of import receptors for the initial binding of cytosolically synthesized preproteins and a general import pore (GIP) for the membrane translocation of various preproteins into the mitochondria. The import receptors include Tom20 and Tom22, which form a heteromeric receptor complex that initiates the insertion of newly synthesized proteins into the outer membrane and then directs the precursor protein into the GIP. Tom20 Antibody (F-10) is specific for mammalian Tom20 protein. In yeast, Tom22 is the essential component of the import receptor complex as it functions as both a receptor for the preproteins and serves as a docking point for both Tom20 and the GIP. Tom22 directly associates with Tom40, the major component of the GIP, and thereby forms a stable interaction between the two core complexes to facilitate the fluid movement of preproteins into the mitochondria. The insertion of Tom40 into the Tom machinery requires the initial binding of Tom40 to Tom20 and leads to the efficient incorporation of Tom40 precursors into preexisting Tom complexes.

Hello! Can I use this antibody for Flow Cytometry? If so, with what dilution?

Posée par: TOM20 for Flow Cytometry
Thank you for your question. Fluorescent conjugates of Tom20 Antibody (F-10): sc-17764 can be used for flow cytometry. We recommend using 1 µg of fluorochrome-conjugated antibody per 1 million cells in a volume of 100 µl per tube.

Do you have an antibody like sc-11415 against TOMM20 & produced in rabbit?

Posée par: erorivera
Thank you for your question. We currently do not have such an antibody produced in rabbit. Please refer to our monoclonal alternative Anti-Tom20 Antibody (F-10): sc-17764 instead. This antibody is available in different conjugation variants, which opens up options for co-staining and significantly reduces the risk of unspecific staining.

hi, Sir or Madam, your website showed Tom20 antibody in your company also reacted with the drosophila in WB, can you send me the article that has ever used this antibody in flies? thanks a lot.

Posée par: fifilu
Thank you for your question. Anti-Tom20 Antibody (F-10): sc-17764 was not tested for Drosophila and we do not have any data on it's functionality in these samples. It is recommended for detection of Tom20 of mouse, rat and human origin

this antibody should replace the old polyclonal "sc-11415" antibody. However, this one is mouse, and i am looking for an antibody coming from rabbit. Is it possible to still order the old antibody?

Posée par: Marisaa
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not offer sc-11415, and are unable to provide it for you. We are a monoclonal specific company and do not provide rabbit antibodies at this time.

What is the minimum amount of protein required for signal? I am currently loading 5 ug of protein as this is ideal for the other Abs I am working with. I have tried to dilute the TOM20 F-10 antibody at 1:500 and 1:100 without a hint of a band.

Posée par: Twan
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:100 for TOM20 antibodies. We suggest loading at least 40-60µg of protein on the gel. You can find the recommended protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
